Models
Since 2000 Kuno Mayr studio designs and manufactures models for architects, artist, public and private organizations with great precision and attention to details. The type of work spans from large-scale landscape models to architectural models for presentations and competitions, to furniture and design study models. In over fifteen years of craftsmanship activity, the studio has developed and perfected various techniques such as plaster models made with disposable formwork, territorial models with contour lines or triangulation, hardwood models, and up to complex artistic techniques.
Model manufacture is based on refined craft skills, assisted by more innovative technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing. Material's aesthetic aspect considerations applied to a compositional approach give the works a distinct tactile quality. The works have been (or are currently) displayed at major exhibitions and museums such as La Biennale d'Arte di Venezia or the MAXXI museum in Rome. Customers include the artists Alfredo Jaar, Giorgio Andreotta Calo' and Jasa, the architects Zaha Hadid and studio Archea, the Architecture University of Parma and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
