Study and preliminary project

2010 – 2012

Tione of Trento town raised the issue of "urban decorum" and the need of rethinking the urban equipment of the town center's public space. Its administrators were clever and took the opportunity to identify a number of specific interventions, that all together could improve the entire town. Among these, questioning the figurative nature of the Cesare Battisti Square and the Dante Avenue with the public park. So the issue becomes the how: punctuation (rearranging the monuments and  the fountains), underline (reinforce the Austro-Hungarian empire's axis of the Dante Avenue with a double row of lime trees), definition of borders and horizons (boxwood fences, the wall around the park) give structure to the space and transform a condition of apathy into landscape design. A two-sided pavilion is placed inside the park to accommodate music and entertainment events.
